School Governance Council Parent/Guardian and Teacher Elections Cambridge High School will be electing new representatives to serve on the School Governance Council. Two parent/guardian positions and one teacher position are open for election this spring. Our School Governance Council has a leadership role in the governance of the school. The Council works with the Principal on the long-term vision and strategy for the school. They are responsible for approving the school's strategic plan and budget recommendations, as well as designing innovative solutions to increase academic achievement and meeting the unique needs of our school community. This past year, our Council worked diligently to develop a request for flexibility to allow for an increase in time for our teachers to participate in Professional Learning Communities, and requested for seed funds to help address security needs. Elections for the parent/guardian and teacher positions on the School Governance Council will be held March 19 - March 23, 2018.
Candidates interested in running for an elected position on the Council must complete a candidate declaration form and submit to the district office by February 23, 2018. Patrick O'Neal DPH Commissioners says, 'It is not too late to get a flu shot. Every individual over the age of six months should a get a flu vaccine - not just for their own protection, but to protect others around them who may be more vulnerable to the flu and its complications.'
