Desperados 2 is the sequel to the successful wild west title Desperados - Wanted Dead or Alive. The gameplay is based on its predecessor but with brand new tactical possibilities in a beautiful 3D environment. Switch from an isometric view to a third person view whenever you want; for example, for duels, brawls and shoot-outs. The great variety of settings includes dusty canyons, ghost towns, American Indian villages and forts, creating a breathtaking atmosphere. (January 2018) Development It was reported that Andreas Speer, one of the heads of Spellbound, said the publisher, Atari, missed six months worth of payment which forced Spellbound to lay off staff and release the game not as planned and promoted. A sequel, was made with the scrapped part of the game, but Spellbound could not gain the rights to the Desperados name. Critical reception The game received mixed reviews from critics.
